Get to Know the IslandJust three miles from Clearwater Beach and less than an hour away from the Historic Peninsula Inn, Caladesi Island State Park stands untouched by civilization. TripAdvisor even named it one of the top beaches in America. Picture endless white-sand beaches, a light breeze, and palm trees among the lush forest. Sounds dreamy, doesn’t it? Well, on Caladesi, it’s reality!
Fun Fact: Caladesi is right next to Honeymoon Island, its northern neighbor. The two islands used to be connected until a hurricane separated them in the 1920s.
Take the Ferry
The easiest way to access Caladesi Island is by ferry. The trip only takes 20 minutes and offers stunning views of the ocean, so have your camera ready to snap a few shots! The ferry departs from Honeymoon Island every half hour starting at 10 a.m. Tickets are $14 for adults and $7 for children (6-12 years old). Children five and under ride for free.
Once you step off the ferry, you’ll find yourself at Caladesi Harbor. Admire the boats in front of you and visit Cafe Caladesi for coffee or light bite. Their smoothies and burgers are delicious!
What Can You Do on Caladesi Island?
